CALL ROTEX FIRST

At Rotex, we know how important it is to keep you up and running. That's why we keep a stocked inventory of consumable parts.

Whether you're in the middle of an emergency breakdown, or you are planning your preventative maintenance program for your screeners and separators for the upcoming year, ROTEX-xpress means that you have the parts you need when you need them.

Mesh cleaning balls are important to the operation of the screener. They control screen blinding and improve performance by stratifying the material on the screen surface. Mesh cleaning becomes less effective as balls wear.

When replacing worn balls, use balls of the same size and material as specified on the spare parts list. If the product or application has changed, contact Rotex for help in selecting the proper ball size and material.

Balls with a rough appearance, hard surface or reduced rebound can indicate damage by high temperature. Oils, solvents and fumigation chemicals can cause balls to swell or become excessively soft. To select the correct balls for these applications contact ROTEX.

POLY-CLEAR CONNECTORS
Poly-Clear Connectors are designed to outlast rubber and nylon sleeves 5:1. Poly-Clear sleeves offer outstanding abrasion and tear resistance, are static dissipative, and are available in varied sizes. The easy-to-cut sleeves provide a full visual inspection of material flow and are FDA approved. The Poly-Clear Connector withstands a wide range of temperature conditions: -40° F (-40° C) to 180° F (82° C).

These products are designed to be installed on gyratory and vibratory equipment with enough slack to allow for the machine motion. Recommended usage includes flexible connections on all types of atmospheric, gyratory and vibratory sifters, screeners, feeders, bin discharges, hoppers, packaging equipment, and conveyors.

ULTRA-PTFE CONNECTORS
Ultra-PTFE connectors are available in both laminate and as a woven fabric sleeve. The Ultra-PTFE Sleeve resists radical temperatures from -390° F (-234° C) to 450° F (232° C). The sleeves offer excellent resistance to chemical attack in addition to outstanding abrasion and moisture resistance. Ultra-PTFE woven fabric connectors offer all the benefits of PTFE laminate in a breathable (30 CFM) woven fabric that outlasts traditional nylon fabrics. This material is easy to keep clean, will not shrink when laundered, and is also FDA approved.

Deep corrugations give ROTEX® Molded Connectors extreme flexibility, permitting uninterrupted operation under conditions of continuous vibration and vigorous flexing. These corrugations retain maximum opening size at every position of operation, allowing a full flow to pass at all times.

CHOICE OF MATERIALS
ROTEX Molded Connectors are natural rubber, and are available in neoprene, propylene or silicone for special applications. Call ROTEX Customer Service to determine which material serves your application.

FOUR STANDARD SIZES
All molded connectors are 10-3/4" overall length, with choice of diameters - 4", 6", 8" and 10". See dimensional drawing for recommended distances between metal connecting rings – these may be varied, depending on the application and field experience.

METHODS OF ATTACHMENT
ROTEX Molded Connectors are securely attached to adjacent equipment or spouting by means of connecting rings. Annular grooves on the inside circumference of each connector-end stretch over mating beads on the rings. This stretch fit maintains a fully-enclosed seal, yet connectors always attach and remove easily for inspection or service.

CONNECTING RINGS
Beaded Connecting Rings are available in diameters to fit exactly the four ROTEX Molded Connector sizes. By stretching the connector-end over the ring bead, they protect against dust and air penetration - no special clamps required. Rings are 13 gauge formed construction (standard), or heavy machined construction for severe-duty applications. Materials are stainless steel, mild steel or aluminum.

NYLON SLEEVES
The most popular ROTEX Fabric Connectors are constructed of nylon. They are designed to serve as inlets or outlets in applications where molded connectors do not fit, such as ovals or diameters larger than 10". Many users prefer nylon connectors for general applications as well, so Rotex stocks them in 4", 6", 8" and 10" diameters with a standard length of 12-1/2".

TYPE "C" NYLON SLEEVES
Contain a 5" urethane skirt that helps prevent wear at the bottom of the sleeve.

<TYPE "D" NYLON SLEEVES
Fully-lined with urethane and are abrasion-resistant.

FABRIC SLEEVES<
Can be sewn to suit any diameter over 4" and any length over 5". Rings are sewn in at regular intervals to prevent collapsing and to keep the sleeve open for maximum material flow. Pre-sized stainless steel bands are included to provide a fully enclosed seal at both ends, yet attach and release quickly. The bands insert neatly into a sewn passage in the hem on both ends of the nylon sleeve. To order a special size sleeve, simply measure the distance between the beads on the ROTEX Connecting Rings.

OPTIONAL HOOK-AND-LOOP STRAPS
Available for nylon connectors in applications where the metal bands cannot be used. Non-stocked, special order nylon sleeves can be provided with sewn-in hook-and-loop straps when requested at the time of order.

FLEXTRA® SLEEVES
For high temperature applications up to 400°F (204°C), Rotex offers a fabric connector constructed of Flextra® material. These sleeves also include pre-sized stainless steel bands and fastener for both ends to provide a tighter seal.

"LENO-WEAVE" SLEEVES
This fabric has three laminated layers - two of stretch "Leno-Weave" nylon with a layer of neoprene in-between. These sleeves stretch easily to fit any connection of round or oval shape. They are easy to install without special tools -the stretch bands at each end fit snugly over ROTEX Connecting Rings.

SLIDING INLETS
The ROTEX Slider-Mounted Inlet Connector (patented) permits the connecting sleeve to remain stationary while the screener continues its gyratory motion. This is ideal for applications involving particularly abrasive materials, and provides much longer sleeve life, plus the assurance of reduced downtime and a consistently reliable seal against the environment. The sliding inlet connector is available on most Rotex models, or can be retrofitted on existing machines. Details on request.
