Rotex Wraps Up Another Successful Summer Internship Program
Rotex has always been an active recruiter throughout local colleges. They are devoted to early career development and helping increase interest in manufacturing careers. Rotex is owned by Hillenbrand, a global diversified industrial company. Since the acquisition, Rotex and Hillenbrand have combined efforts to create the Hillenbrand Internship Program. This has extended the reach of the program and improved the student summer experience. Hillenbrand helps with recruiting events and resources, and also provides company outings and weekly activities for the interns. This provides a unique opportunity to students, as Hillenbrand owns six subsidiaries across a wide variety of industries in locations across the globe.
Rotex played host to three great summer interns this year in IT, engineering and marketing. Meet the intern team:
Ryne Domingo, IT Intern
Hey guys,
My name is Ryne Domingo and I am interning in the IT department at Rotex. I am from a small town in Indiana called Greensburg. I just finished my second year at the University of Cincinnati and am majoring in Business Information Systems.
Here at Rotex, I help modernize vital manufacturing programs. I am also a main contributor to solving daily IT help desk requests and aid in the standardization of Rotex IT processes. I have really enjoyed my internship here because within one role, I can help contribute to many different business aspects.
Tori Giddings, Marketing Intern
Hey there!
My name is Tori and I am the marketing intern at Rotex. I am also from Greensburg, Indiana (like Ryne). I am a fourth-year marketing and fashion design studies student at the University of Cincinnati — the hottest college in America.
Rotex has given me the opportunity to work on many different projects. I updated roughly 3,000 leads and used an algorithm to qualify/disqualify each; I have worked on developing videos for the new website launching in late August; and I am in charge of all social media posts. I have enjoyed interning at Rotex because I have learned so much in just a couple of months, and the people are awesome!
Ted Gardner, Engineering Intern
My name is Ted and I am the engineering intern this summer. I’m entering my junior year at the University of Cincinnati (go Bearcats!), and I am from Toledo, Ohio.
At Rotex, I have helped with product design and development, verifying the static and dynamic forces detailed on Rotex’s technical drawings, and I assist with new machine and part orders. This is my second co-op rotation with Rotex. I like it because Rotex has a great small-company atmosphere, and it has made me feel like an asset to the engineering department.
