MEGATEX XD | Mineral Separator and Screening Machine
The highest capacities in a single unit.
Drive
The Rotex Minerals Separator™ drive is used to generate the legendary Rotex Gyratory Reciprocating Motion.
- It is externally mounted at the head end of the machine.
- It reduces maintenance by providing easier access through simple removal of the drive guard in a matter of minutes.
Easy Access Doors
Screen access and changes are easier than ever with the Rotex customized DESTACO door clamps.
- Access and inspect screens in a matter of seconds.
- Screen removal is accomplished in two steps: removing the safety bolt and lowering the cams.
- Once the screen deck is pulled out, the old screen can be removed. Using our patented automatic tensioning clips, the new screen is applied and ready for reinstallation.
Sliding Inlet
The Rotex sliding inlet eliminates the hassle associated with flexible connections.
- It uses a Teflon™ wear ring and close running flange to allow for movement of the machine.
- It eliminates torn flexible connections.
- It utilizes a rubber spring sleeve to ensure constant contact between wear ring and flange to reduce dust and improve plant safety.
Brush Discharge
The Rotex Minerals Separator™ incorporates brush discharge connections to eliminate troublesome flexible outlet connections.
- Brush cartridges stay in constant contact with the Rotex Takeaway Box to reduce dust and contain separated product fractions.
- This reduces maintenance by eliminating flexible connections and providing up to 10 times longer life.
Universal Joints
The Rotex hanger assembly integrates two universal joints at each connection point at the top and bottom.
- The universal joints accommodate the torsional forces created by the unique Rotex Gyratory Reciprocating Motion while bearing the entire weight of the machine.
- An ergonomically located grease fitting services both joints.
The Rotex Minerals Separator™/MEGATEX XD™ provides unmatched industrial screening for high-volume applications requiring extremely accurate separations. Every multilevel mineral separator features unique stacked designs for smaller footprints and was engineered to withstand the harshest conditions.
Features
How It Works
Rotex’s Gyratory Reciprocating Motion
The Gyratory Reciprocating Motion gradually transitions along the length of the mineral separator, starting off as purely gyratory motion at the head, then moving to elliptical movement in the center and reverting back to reciprocating toward the end.
- Circular motion at feed end
- Spreads the material across the full width of the screen surface
- Stratifies the material
- Aggressively conveys material forward
- Changing to elliptical motion at center
- Long-stroke elliptical action
- Enhances product stratification
- Conveys material at high capacity
- Reciprocating motion at discharge end
- Removes near-size particles
- Improves screening efficiency
- No vertical component ensures material is in constant contact with the screen surface

Benefits
Reduced Downtime
The combination of quick-access clamps, external drives, and no flexible connections reduces downtime by making maintenance on the mineral separator easier.
Consistent Screen Tension
Through the use of our unique screen-attachment method, the screen is automatically tensioned with each new screen installation.
Eliminates Product Leakage
Each fraction is fully contained within the mineral separator through the use of our patented Cam Lift-Rail and customized internal seals.
Independent Screen Access
The stacked, multiple-deck, tray-access design allows individual screen access, which eliminates the need to remove all decks. A single deck screen change can be completed in 10 minutes, and all 12 decks within two hours.
Longevity and Durability
Rotex drives are designed for long-term, dependable service with minimal maintenance. In addition, 500 to 1,000 pounds of abrasion-resistant liners ensure your mineral separator will withstand any application.
Installation

Existing structure
Because the mineral separator suspension system has low transmitted forces, the machine can be mounted directly to a structural steel framework.

Rotex supplied stand
The mineral separator can be floor-mounted using a support stand designed for a specific model.
