What’s new at Rotex and in the industrial separation equipment industry?
Meet the Summer Interns
Rotex has always been an active recruiter throughout local colleges. They are devoted to early career development and helping increase interest in manufacturing careers. Rotex is owned by Hillenbrand, a global diversified industrial company. Since the acquisition, Rotex and Hillenbrand have combined efforts to create the Hillenbrand Internship Program. This has extended the reach of the program and improved the student summer experience. Hillenbrand helps with recruiting events and resources, and also provides company outings and weekly activities for the interns. This provides a unique opportunity to students, as Hillenbrand owns six subsidiaries across a wide variety of industries in locations across the globe.
Rotex played host to six great summer interns this year in IT, engineering, sales, HR and supply chain. Meet the intern team:
Reid Domingo, IT Intern
Hey Guys,
My name is Reid Domingo and I am interning in the IT department at Rotex. I am from Greensburg, Indiana and I am a 3rd Year at Purdue University majoring in Computer Engineering.
Here at Rotex, I help with daily tasks like help desk tickets, editing/fixing SQL reports and reimagining new and used computers. I have enjoyed meeting and working with a wide variety of people. Getting to see all sides of a business has been both educational and interesting. Despite meeting many new people since I have started here, I have not met anyone that I do not enjoy interacting with. Everyone who I have helped has been extremely polite and patient, making working here a great learning experience.
Benjamin Kuhlman, Supply Chain Intern
My name is Benjamin Kuhlman and I am the Supply Chain intern at Rotex. I am a fourth year Operations Management and International Business, minor in German Studies student at the University of Cincinnati, and I am from Crescent Springs, Kentucky.
At Rotex, I send out a daily tracking sheet for late parts, doing analysis on parts that went out of stock. I also assist Production Control with planning new machines, collecting nearly 100 updated vendor confidentiality agreements, and have helped develop job instructions for the paint process for assembly in the shop. I enjoy the culture of Rotex and the variety of projects with which I have been able to help. Everyone at Rotex has been nice to work with and helpful in making this a beneficial intern experience.
Nick Seifert, Engineering Intern
Hello,
I am Nick Seifert, one of the engineering interns at Rotex. I am currently a Junior at the University of Notre Dame with a major in Mechanical Engineering and minor in Engineering Corporate Practice. I am Finneytown, Ohio.
Rotex has given me the opportunity to work on streamlining the process of measuring static and dynamic reaction forces in Rotex’s machines. I’ve enjoyed all the learning experiences that I’ve had thus far at Rotex. My project has consistently challenged me to develop and broad range of skills, while the Hillenbrand internship program has provided me with weekly opportunities to learn about the operations of the business.
Devon Bloom, Engineering Intern
What’s up everyone,
My name is Devon Bloom and I am from Cincinnati, Ohio. I am a senior (graduating May 2019) at the University of Cincinnati studying Mechanical Engineering Technology. I am an intern in the engineering department at Rotex.
Projects I’ve worked on this summer include ball tray revisions, tarp cover design concepts, APEX seal design concepts, and D-Seal failure investigation. I’ve enjoyed the work, friendliness, and welcoming nature of the people here at Rotex.
Jacob Berning, Sales Intern
My name is Jacob Berning and I am interning in the sales department at Rotex this summer. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Dayton, and am from Anderson Township in Cincinnati. At UD I am studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Bio-mechanics.
